Volunteerism
Jane and I just left the Library Center where we listened to a debate between seven of the eight candidates for the 7th District Senate seat. What an invigorating example of democracy in action! It made me again reaffirm my commitment to the importance of my run for the House seat in the 138th state district. Several of the candidates expressed their commitment to our community through activities with local charitable organizations. Over my adult life, I have been involved in many diverse organizations, from Habitat for Humanity to Boys and Girls Town, the Ronald McDonald House, the Victim’s Center, The History Museum and several others. Each of these organizations is dependent on a core group of volunteers whose only interest is improving the overall quality of life in our community. I am proud to have been involved in each of these organizations and through this volunteerism, I have learned more about myself, those who are helping and those that are helped by these organizations. This insight has guided me in my life and will assist me in representing all the citizens in the 138th District.
