Supporters brave the rain for a great reception
Last night was an exciting night for our campaign. Over forty supporters and friends braved torrential rain to show their commitment to the success of our efforts. The two large tents provided us with some shelter once we made it from our cars to the beautiful back yard of Tom Meutzel’s home in the Phelps Park area of downtown. After the umbrellas were put away, everyone sampled the wonderful food from Ophelia’s and got to know each other better. It was gratifying for me to see this many people, who could have used the terrible weather for an excuse to stay home, get together to discuss how to help put our campaign over the top in November. As you can see from the photos below everyone ignored the dampness and had a great evening. Missouri House Speaker-Elect Steve Tilley rallied the crowd and I was honored by his comments as he introduced me. I spoke to the crowd about the things I feel are the most important ones in the campaign: job creation, tax reform, fiscal discipline and education. I finished my remarks with a commitment to always be available to the people of the 138th District and to keep a constant dialog with them so that they are receiving the best representation possible in Jefferson City. I want to, again, thank those who worked so hard to make the event such a great success. Take a look at the photos of the event in the flickr section below.
