Twenty Days To Go

14 October 2010 ~ 0 Comments

Only twenty day left until the election and things have been getting busier and busier for all of us with the campaign. Tuesday the 5th we celebrated 220 days on the campaign trail by having a fund raiser in the location where we held our first event. Nearly a hundred friends and supporters joined us as we sampled signature dishes from several businesses in the 138th District and heard words of encouragement from “soon to be” Congressman Billy Long. We also showed off a new advertising method developed by one of our supporters and great friend Todd Smith. This running stroller is outfitted with campaign signs and Todd pushes it around the district as he runs every day. You can’t ask for more effort than that from a campaign volunteer.

This past Tuesday the 12th we held a business lunch at Cartoons for local legislators and business people to come together and discuss how we can improve our business climate.  We heard from Speaker of the House Ron Richard about the efforts the legislature is planning to help with this all important activity. Forty-five people attended and enjoyed lunch and some great conversation. I hope to make this a regular event to benefit both the businesses and the legislators who attend.

We also have been working to install over 350 yard signs and 80 large road signs across the district. If you know of someone who would like a sign, please call and we will get it to them as soon as possible.  Support for my campaign to represent the people of the 138th District continues to invigorate me – I so appreciate your unfailing support!
